Gaga Coastal City 1.0

COO created a unique space that blurs the boundaries between the indoor and the outdoor for Gaga at Coastal City shopping mall in Shenzhen. Rustic wood, soft organic textile and green decor create a 290 m2 space that is calming and relaxing.

Introduction

The concept “blurring boundaries”, translates into a custom-made ceiling installation of wooden lamellas, which represents a burst of sunlight. It continues onto the walls and becomes display shelves. A large chandelier adorned with ping pong ball sized lightbulbs makes for an iconic feature that customers will be sure to remember. The outdoor floor panels continue into the interior of the café and transition into sleek concrete floors.

The interior design features wall shelves spanning the length of the store, filled with products, immersing the customers in the food culture that is unique to Gaga. Gaga’s care for quality is also visible in other details; from individually customised tableware to decorative pieces. No two items are alike, and each item is selected with the most exceptional care.

Starting from a profound understanding of the brand, the design highlights and secures Gaga’s unique brand image and spirit. COO’s design captured the brand’s DNA and created an on-brand environment through meticulous attention to details.
